Thorpes Joinery are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to take on the role of Project Surveyor.
We are excited to offer this fantastic opportunity to take on a challenging and rewarding role within our company.
The successful candidate will join our Commercial and Estimating team and will ultimately be responsible for the overall financial management, control, and reporting of projects.
The role will provide a fantastic scope for professional development with the opportunity for formal training, and requires someone who is accomplished at building and maintaining relationships.

Skillset
This is an important role within our company and as such demands a high level of methodical, numerical, and organisational skills.
Overall, we are looking for a candidate who:
Is methodical and numerically adept.
Has an eye for detail and strives for accuracy and quality.
Has a conscientious approach to work.
Possesses strong communication skills and is able to think on their feet.
Shows good negotiating skills.
Has a good IT skill level, with Excel essential.
Approachable and able to deal with queries in a professional and confidential manner.
Joinery background essential
Is able to manage clients and generate sales opportunities
Key Responsibilities
Below is a summary of what broadly constitutes the cornerstone of this role’s responsibilities.
Review project financials and prepare initial project cash flow.
Analyse quotations from installation teams.
Ensure that material and subcontract expenditure is in line with set budgets.
Identify, price and accurately justify variations and changes to the scope of works.
Prepare and submit monthly applications for payments.
Agree final account promptly upon project completion.
Resolving contractual and commercial issues.
Manage and chase outstanding retentions in line with the sub-contract orders.
Compile and submit fortnightly CVRs to management team.
Prepare and manage up-to-date project accounts, keeping clients fully informed.
Work closely with the project delivery team to maximise project profitability.
