International Women’s Day : #InspireInclusion
Happy International Women’s Day.
A day to celebrate the achievements of women everywhere, be it social, economic, cultural, or political.
This week was also Women in Construction Week, a week promoting and celebrating the important role that women play in construction.
We spoke to three of our incredible women about their journey in construction: the challenges, the positives and the room for growth.
Jenny Pape
Project Manager
“Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses and I think we’re starting to see less presumptions as to what they may be based on gender.
As is true across all industries, no one person can be better than the team that surrounds them!”
Karolina Dziakowicz
Document Controller / O&Ms
“Construction is a male dominated industry and before I started at Thorpes quickly that became very apparent however, despite being a young woman in the construction industry the factory staff at Thorpes have been nothing but helpful and supportive towards my whole journey”
Megan Savage
Sales & Marketing Assistant
“I would encourage women everywhere to look at construction as a viable career option. It offers progression, development, experiences and is incredibly social, and what we make is something to be proud of too”.
We are proud of all of our female employees and the difference they make to our business day in, day out. So to them, and to women everywhere, thank you.
