Thorpe Interior Group Named In ‘1000 Companies To Inspire Britain 2020‘.
We are absolutely delighted to announce that the Thorpe Interior Group, the parent company of Thorpes Joinery and Thorpes Flooring, has been named in the prestigious ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain 2020’ list alongside other companies from a range of sectors, each demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit and strong revenue performance.
The Report
Put together by the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), this independent report utilises data, specialist analysis and expert commentary to shine a light upon companies who have “inspired with their stories of resilience, growth and entrepreneurship; leading innovation and providing a critical source of jobs”.
In the foreword of the report, Ben Wright (Business Editor, The Telegraph) highlights that of the 5.9 million private sector businesses in the UK, 5.8 million employ fewer than 50 people, and so this report in looking directly at the country’s small business economy, is in fact, focusing upon the driving force behind the majority of the country’s jobs and economic output.
It is more important than ever to foster a business investment that nurtures and promotes entrepreneurship, and to that end, the document acts as a showcase for extraordinary work taking place up and down the country in various sectors and regions.
How It Works
To create their shortlist, LSEG partnered with Beauhurst , a specialist company operating an intuitive data platform which allows users to explore the UK’s most ambitious companies. Beauhurst’s platform helps thousands of analysts, investors, strategists and BD experts, and the same rigorous methodology applied to their state-of-the-art platform was applied in compiling the 2020 version of the LSEG report, looking at each business and their sector in detail and applying context to create a balanced and informative report.
Each firm is assessed across a number of criteria prior to benchmarking against others within their sector, and those who outperform sector average are identified.
What This Means For Us
We are understandably delighted to have been included in this years iteration, strongly believing that this is testament to the progress we have made as a company in the previous years.
As a company with feet in two of the most flexible, ever-changing sectors in manufacturing and construction, we know as well as most that it is not possible to stand still, to operate in a status-quo, instead, we have grown, revolutionised our systems and fundamentally altered our method of business all within the previous 18 months.
Naturally this has not come without it’s growing pains but crucially, we believe these moments have yielded important learning opportunities and that we are in a stronger position as a result.
Our shortlisting is vindication of the changes we have made as a business and a group across the last few years, and is truly a testament to the innovation and dedication of those within our company who made these changes possible.
